Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/07/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 7, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and the ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams. Details - Work setting is an acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds - Labor & Delivery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio - Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 - Floating required to Mother Baby unit as needed - Working weekends is required and may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs - Epic EMR experience required - No on-call responsibilities - Free parking available on-site Requirements - Active CA RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted - Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years strongly preferred - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (AWHONN Advanced is a hard requirement — must have a passing certificate) - Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision - Epic EMR experience required - At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of total employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting - SSN and date of birth required for consideration Additional Information - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Scrubs are provided for L&D - Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination - Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered but at a local pay rate - All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — post-offer RTO requests are subject to denial - Scheduling preferences may be considered at manager's discretion but are not guaranteed; requests related to secondary employment will not be accommodated - Block schedule requests are at manager's discretion American Traveler Job ID P-685232.
