Will be responsible for Wafer Fab Process Integration for Silicon Photodetector device manufacturing, supporting instrumentation and equipment to ensure effectiveness in process engineering and process integration to bring manufacturing/production efforts to scale with maximum efficiency and productivity. Performs trials, tests and/or experiments to support engineering, production and/or R activities. Assists manufacturing operations in problem solving with regards to Diffusion, Thin Films, Plasma Etch, and Wet Chemistry equipment and systems. Develops and recommends new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. Establishes operating equipment specifications. Responsibilities:Process Integration Engineering of Photodetector Devices, including support and qualification of 6'' Processing Equipment for Wafer Fab Operations: 6'' Thermco Diffusion Furnaces, Wet Chemistry Benches, Thin Film Vacuum Metallization System, Plasma Etchers, and Metrology/Inspection equipment, supporting the Product Development Engineering Team and Wafer Fab Process Engineering Production as needed.Perform production system start-up/acceptance tests for Wafer Fab Process equipment, and establish general performance specifications for all processes and process equipmentCompile process acceptance plans/ timelines, executing them on time and writing engineering reports on process qualification results as required. Support process transfer related to new product introduction from R to the Production line, recommending process changes and improvements. Interact with cross functional Process Engineers, Product Engineers, and R, assisting in teamwork problem solving in the design and development of new processes, performing DOEs, improving process quality, yield, throughput, and procedure.Take corrective actions and collaborate with Wafer Fab Leadership Team to identify and resolve non-conformance items, analyzing and documenting results.Support/Monitor production yields and QA related to Wafer Fab processes, applying SPC (statistical process control) methods to track process performance and ensure specifications are met. Use wafer characterization measuring equipment to check specification conformance, entering data in SPC charts, and recommending wafer disposition. Report and document process issues and equipment malfunctions, taking corrective actions, and collaborating with Wafer Fab Leadership Team to identify and resolve non-conformance items, analyzing and documenting results.Train and assist process operators, providing engineering/MTS guidance to technicians and operators as needed. Draft and execute certifications tests for Wafer Fab Operators.Remain up-to-date on new and emerging optical technologies, and their relevance to future product development.Uphold the companys core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and TeamworkDemonstrate behavior consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problemDuties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.Qualifications:Degree in Engineering Discipline, Physics, Optoelectronics, Microelectronics, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 7 years as a hands-on Process Integration Engineer in a Wafer Fab semiconductor facility.Optoelectronics Photodetector Device Process fabrication integration experience and P/N Junction device knowledge is a strong asset.Experience with Thermco TMX10000 Diffusion Equipment is a strong asset.Demonstrated ability to work in a Process Engineering Team interacting with Production, R, Equipment Maintenance, process equipment OEM''s.Strong sense of urgency for minimizing equipment downtime.Working knowledge of SPC and analysis of characterization data.Good self-organizational skills and ability to work with limited supervision.Ability to generate Technical reports in a timely fashion.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to balance multiple tasks in a priority based timeline.Works well in team-oriented environment.Ability to keep informed of the latest state-of-the-art processes, techniques, and process equipment innovations.
