Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.AVIONICS MANUFACTURING SPECIALIST (TRANSDUCERS) - 2ND SHIFTRESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricate and assemble high quality, high reliability electromechanical assemblies and transducersRead, interpret and work from drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processesPerform verifications of flight hardware and documenting results in a clear, precise and complete mannerCreate and review test code for automated acceptance testingRespond to production related non-conformances (both deviation and non-deviation), drive to root cause and disposition according to manufacturing policiesImplement corresponding corrective action plansMaintain process planning documents and action technician feedbackUpdate designs and processes when necessary in response to manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence, and system requirement changesDrive lean projects to improve the manufacturing process to eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve yieldOptimize product flow through the factoryReview drawings and technical data packages for manufacturability, provide constructive feedback to engineering/design communityAssist in maintenance and calibration activities for automated acceptance testing hardwareAssist with the development of production processes for first time production runsWork with engineers to create 2D drawings from existing 3D models, applying established drawing specifications and standardsWork with engineers to make updates to existing 3D models, applying established modeling processes and standardsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate4+ years of experience working in electronic assembly and/or test production environment or a bachelor's degree in an engineering fieldPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Associate degree or bachelors degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineeringDemonstrated professional experience providing engineering and manufacturing support for the production of highly complex electronic productsExperience designing tooling in a manufacturing environmentCapable of solving complex manufacturing problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated teamExperience applying Six-Sigma, Kaizen and 5S techniques to the manufacturing floorADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to travel up to 10% (to outside vendors)Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as required.
