TURBOMACHINERY ROTORDYNAMICS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES: + Responsible for rotordynamic assessments during the preliminary and detailed design phases of turbomachines across multiple machine types and platforms + Responsible for bearing system selection, design, and analysis + High speed data processing to review dynamics data for hardware health BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline + 2+ years experience in advanced lateral rotordynamic analysis, including critical speed assessments, rotordynamic stability analysis, unbalanced forced response, and/or transient non-linear analysis + 2+ years experience in rolling element and fluid film bearing design and analysis PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Masters degree in an engineering discipline + Experience with cryogenic bearing applications + Rotating machinery development and/or operational experience + Experience developing balance requirements and processes for high speed rotating machinery + Familiarity with XLRotor, XLTRC, or similar rotordynamics analysis software + Experience with NX or other solid modeling software + Experience generating, reading, and interpreting engineering drawings + Understanding of test methods/setups and high speed data acquisition systems + Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers + Ability to handle high levels of responsibility and demonstrate appropriate accountability + Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, exceptional attention to detail + Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations to stakeholders, the customer, and management ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: + Occasional travel to support hardware testing + Flexibility in working hours to support critical design or development efforts ITAR REQUIREMENTS: + To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
